I have decorated my langbelt with brass plates a bit more, added belt stiffeners, rings and hooks for carrying stuff.

It's loosely inspired by late Roman military belts that were
worn by the Alamans and other Germanic tribes.

Here's a closeup of the strap end and the hooks.

Any places where I can learn to do all these kinds of stuff you do?
I'm 16 and would really like to learn how to make stuff like this :o

And sometimes, you just have to DO it and fail. Nothing teaches as well as a few mistakes!

As I have taught myself most of the things I do, I learned most by trial-and-error. Googling things you want to do also helps. for example: 'Knife sheath DIY'.

It was difficult to find/get raw, new materials, like leather or brass plate, for a long time, so I went to thrift shops for second-hand stuff. Old leather bags, odjects made of copper and brass etc.

It also helps to look on Youtube for information. How to use tools is just something you have to 'get in your fingers'. Just try things, carefully, maybe ask an adult to show you how to use certain things?

Figure out how things are made that you would like to try: take an old object apart to see how it was made, and then re-create it after your own taste or an ancient example.

If you have any specific questions for a project you'd like to try, feel free to ask. Maybe I can help you.

Good luck! :D
