Flattened iron rings with round rivets. I think it's from the Hanwei factories...

Yes, it is. Love to wear it...hate to put it on. :D

I should've gone for a more general, later medieval soldier with gambeson and a little plate armour here and there. :D

When I have to wear a hauberk, I wear it like a t-shirt (well, a very heavy t-shirt XD) I don't find it particulary difficult to put it on and off...personally I think the worst thing after a battle is taking off the gambeson XD

My friend's gambeson is worse than his hauberk, indeed. Mine's relatively easy to put on, but a bit tight...either I bought it too small or the beer's finally leaving its mark. :D

I've seen this many times. It's usually accompanied with a soundtrack kinda like "OWW! You have to put your arms up! UP!! It's got my hair!! GAH!! MY BEARD!!!! *i think i'm stuck*"

Not sure it was shaved. Maille can do a great job of plucking!

Hey- we're getting a 12c Motte and Bailey with associated village build in the next couple of years- only about 4 hours away!! WOOT!! My friend who teaches WMA bought a buncha land, and is getting permits for the historical village in place, now! I'm so jazzed. Now, perhaps I'll get my proper period forge up and running!

It's my hope we'll do something like the castle in France, where it's built in an "as period as possible" fashion- at least a part of it, for a sort of display~

I also noted a small Viking steading might be a good addition- that way they could host battles and the like in a bunch of periods and have a (Hopefully!) positive revenue stream.

Would it fit in the kind of natural surroundings you have over there?

Like this? YES! It's a right kerfuffle! :D

Mine is easier, because it's a bit shorter.
